Jean Baur and her therapy dog Bella, volunteer in Connecticut, and have wonderful adventures together. They visit special needs children in local schools, go to rehab facilities, hospitals and a local cancer center. As Jean writes in her new book, “Joy Unleashed: The Story of Bella, the Unlikely Therapy Dogs,” these dogs are “ambassadors of exuberance.”
Jean and Bella lived in Yardley, PA until 2012, when they moved to Stonington. Their volunteer work quickly expanded to schools, L&M hospital, a local rehab facility and a few nearby colleges. This is Jean’s third book and she’s thrilled to support organizations that help dogs in need, as well as those who expand the work of therapy dogs.
